California Home Haunts, Mazes and Halloween Displays
The tradition continues for 2005! A collection of homes with over the top displays for Halloween. Scrolling down will get you to a handful of Charity and Pro Haunts.

I wrote the following in 2002:
Here's mostly my itenerary for this Halloween. Last year was the first time I made a concerted effort to visit other people's home haunts. Not only did I really enjoy myself but my children spoke of the various homes that we visited for several months and their anticipation for this year is tremendous. This is a tradition I hope to continue with my young family. A couple of other events that we won't be attending due to scheduling conflicts have been listed.

Haunts listed with 'Uncomfirmed' have not responded with their updates for 2005
and may not be in operation for this year.

The Inland Empire's SinisterPumpkin.com has had its final home haunt in 2003 because the Bloody Bayou 2 drew more people than the neighborhood could handle. They're shaking their bones and rattling their pumpkins for more. Please check their website.

A wildly decorated home display more than fourteen years now. It's more sweet and creative than bloody and ghoulish, yet scary. Two graveyards, a giant wooden figure of death, skelteons, flying bats, big spiders, a devil baby in a wicker carriage, fog machines, strobe lights, black lights, sound affects, mannequins dressed as scary little trick or treaters and more.

Central to the Olvera Street festival is an assembly of "ofrendas," offerings on colorful altars. Along with marigolds (Mictecacihuatl's favorite flower), the dead are presented with tamales, moles and "pan de muertos," bread decorated with little dough crossbones. Symbolizing the spirit of the dead, skeletons also make a big presence during the holiday, with paper cutouts hanging on storefronts and candy shaped into skulls. Visiting mortals can enjoy music, dancing and storytelling; after dark, a costumed, candlelit procession wraps up festivities. Workshops throughout the week let children get involved.
